Missing data is never accidental. Feminist scholarship points us to investigate sites of missing data as areas where oppression and epistemic violence have occured. In our research, we use an intersectional feminist lens, to unpack the ways that missing data used in AI/ML pipelines are intertwined with the marginalization of communities, the exploitation of labor, and harmful impact on the governement.
